Lynk & Co To Debut Smart Driving Editions of 07 and 08 EM-P

Brand will rollout Geely’s G-Pilot H7 high-end ADAS system and cosmetic improvements to make both cars look sportier.

Lynk & Co has shown new flagship versions of its 07 EM-P and 08 EM-P models bearing Geely’s high-end autonomous driving support systems.

Both the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P “Lidar Edition” and a 08 EM-P “Lidar Edition”, as the name suggests, will get a lidar unit above the windscreen and Geely’s G-Pilot H7 system, which is powered by a high-performance NVIDIA Drive Thor chip.

Cosmetic improvements making both models look sportier and more aggressive are part of the upgrades, as well as new paint colours.

The 07 EM-P recently topped China’s plug-in hybrid saloon value retention rankings for the first half of 2025.

Both models retains the brand’s “Next Day” design language but introduce a roof-mounted lidar sensor and new paint colours, “a new “Aurora Silver” for the 07, and “Gilded Gold” for the 08, that will debut on the 10 EM-P in the next few weeks.

The front ends have also been subtly adjusted, with the 07 getting more aggressive treatment around the outer air inlets, and the 08 getting an open chrome strip extending from the lower intake to the outer inlets.

At 4,835 mm long, the 07 is 8 mm longer than the current model, but retains the same 1,800mm width, 1,480mm height, and 2,843 mm wheelbase, while the kerb weight has also been reduced by 30 kg to 1,885 kg.

The 08 has also grown slightly, from 4,820mm to 4,825mm, but retains the same width of 1,915mm, height of 1,685mm, and wheelbase of 2,848, but there is an alternative height shared of 1,660mm, suggested maybe some sports or adjustable suspension.

The 07 also gets a sportier bumper at the rear with a more aggressive diffuser and a sharper sculpting.

Both the 07 and 08 EM-P models now feature Geely’s G-Pilot H7 advanced driver assistance system, leveraging NVIDIA’s Drive Thor chip with 700 TOPS of computing power.

The system enables highway and urban automated navigation (NOA) without reliance on high-definition maps, along with door-to-door route planning, positioning Lynk & Co competitively alongside brands like XPeng and even sister brand Zeekr.

Standard versions of the 07 EM-P get a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 120kW (161hp) and a single front-mounted motor producing 160kW, for a total system output of 280kW (375hp).

The 08 EM-P gets the same 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, again producing 120kW (161hp), and twin motors producing 160kW on the front axle and 156kW on the rear axle, and a version of the 08 EM-P was shown by MIIT bearing an eAWD logo, suggesting some trickery to boost off-road capability.

The 07, as the less powerful of the two, gets an 18.4kWh battery, good for 103km of electric range, we believe on the WLTC cycle, and fuel consumption of 4.65-litres per 100km.

The 08 gets a 38.2kWh battery, good for 170 or 185km of electric range on the WLTC cycle, with the shorter range for the eAWD-fitted variant.

That means fuel consumption of 5.5 or 6.0-litres per 100km respectively.

The updates reinforce Lynk & Co’s strategy of combining hybrid efficiency with premium tech in China’s competitive mid-size sedan segment.

The 07 EM-P’s strong value retention, as recognised by the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), may bolster its appeal among cost-conscious buyers, while the inclusion of high-level ADAS systems will make the brand more competitive in what is an increasingly competitive environment.
