Dongfeng’s premium brand launches extended plug-in hybrid saloon with 1,400km total range and Huawei’s ADAS system on board.

Dongfeng’s premium Voyah brand has opened pre-sales for the Passion L, a large plug-in hybrid saloon measuring 5.1 metres in length and offering up to 1,400km of total range.
The model incorporates Huawei’s advanced driver assistance technology and features 5C charging with the battery able to charge from 20–80 percent in approximately 12 minutes.
Prices remain unannounced for the brand’s new flagship saloon but it’s expected to start at around RMB300,000 to 350,000 (£31,400 – £36,600 / $42,100 – $49,200), and those who place a deposit of RMB2,000 now will get a discount of RMB5,000 later.
The launch represents Voyah’s continued push into China’s competitive luxury vehicle segment, following the success of the standard Passion model and the Dreamer MPV.

The Passion L adopts a more grand version of the standard Passion’s design language with a two-tone paint job, large chrome grille with embedded LED daytime running lights and illuminated Voyah logo, and either 19- or 20-inch chrome forged alloys.
A new split headlamp design features detailed daytime running lights at the top and adaptive lighting headlamps lower down, while at the rear the standard Passion’s Voyah-badge detail tail lamps remain seemingly unchanged.
The L in the name indicates subtle growth over the standard Passion; 3.7cm in length to 5,125mm, up 1.5cm in width to 1,985mm, up 1.7cm in height to 1,522mm, and up 1cm in the wheelbase to 3,010mm.
The adaptive spoiler from the standard L also remains on the boot lip, while the L gains a large LiDAR unit to support the Huawei ADS system, with the Voyah lettering at the rear lighting up in turquoise when the ADAS system is activated.

The Passion L’s cabin is somewhat pared back from the standard Passion, which boasted four screens and a head-up display at launch, instead using a 16.1-inch 3k screen in the centre of the dash running the Huawei Harmony 5.1 operating system.
There is a smaller digital instrument display and a head-up display, while the rest of the interior features lots of soft-touch materials and large real wood panels on the dash and doors.

All four outer seats get heating, ventilation, and massaging functions, and benefit from four-zone climate control, while the passenger seat gets a zero-gravity mode and the rear seats get backrest angle adjustment controlled via a large screen on the centre armrest.
There’s also a 6.6-litre heating and cooling drawer, what appears to be twin wireless charging pads, a large panoramic roof, and a comprehensive Huawei sound system.

The Passion L utilises Voyah’s latest plug-in hybrid system, combining a petrol engine with electric motors to deliver both performance and efficiency.
All versions come with four-wheel drive with a 150kW motor on the front axle, 230kW motor on the rear axle, and 1.5-litre engine that can also drive the wheels, giving a total system output in excess of 500hp with a 0-100kph sprint expected in the high 3-second range.
Sitting on an 800-volt platform, the Passion L gets a 5C charging battery that will charge from 20-80 percent in 12 minutes, and offering as much as 410km of electric range on the CLTC cycle, the most we’ve ever seen in an hybrid, and a total range of 1,400km.
It sits on Voyah’s updated platform that underpins the 2026 Dreamer and upcoming Taishan 9L, which features air suspension and rear-wheel steering to provide a comfortable ride and improved agility in tight spaces.
A full launch is likely in October or November where we’re expecting more details of the BMW 5-series rival to be announced.
