2026 Voyah Dreamer Moves Upmarket and Gains Tank-turn Ability

Updated MPV improves in the areas of material quality, comfort, and equipment, and has up to 350km of electric-only range in the PHEV.

Voyah, Dongfeng’s premium brand, has officially opened pre-sales for the updated 2026 Voyah Dreamer multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at the Chengdu Auto Show.

As before, the model will be available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric (BEV) variants, and comes with a with a pre-sale price range from RMB 389,900 (£40,400 / $54,700).

Significant technical upgrades for the revised model include the adoption of an 800V platform and 5C fast-charging capability for the PHEV version, as well as rear-wheel steering.

The brand reported a strong market response, with over 10,000 orders received within the first hour of the pre-sale period commencing.

The bold design language of the 2026 Voyah Dreamer remains virtually unchanged from the current model which is characterised by a prominent waterfall-style chrome grille and extensive chrome accents around the body.

As such its dimensions remain substantial at 5,315mm in length, 1,980mm in width, and1,820 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,200 mm, giving the Dreamer a commanding road presence.

The new model does benefit from a new paint colour known as ‘Golden Red’ which, along with the metallic blue, can be specced in a two-tone colour scheme to give a more premium look.

Multi-spoke 20-inch alloys complete the look of what has proven to be a very popular MPV with premium ride-hailing companies, as well as a roof-mounted lidar unit which supports the model’s use of Huawei’s ADS 4 ADAS system.

Inside, the cabin focuses on luxury and technology, with either a 15.6-inch central screen, or a dual-screen set-up that offers greater entertainment options for the front passenger, with both running the Huawei HarmonySpace 5 software.

A 29-inch augmented reality head-up display also features to help keep eyes on the road, with basic driving information, ADAS imaging, and navigation all able to be conveyed.

The centre console features twin 50W vented wireless phone chargers just ahead of cupholders and a split-lid central storage area.

Ambient lighting completes the look with lighting in the doors and across the dashboard.

The second-row is where the Dreamer gets somewhat more exciting with a dual zero-gravity captain’s seats each complete with a 26-point massage function from the next right down to the legs.

Dual tray tables on the back of the front seats give space to work, while individual screens in the armrests enable easy access to features like the seat heating and ventilation controls, the electric sunshade, and audio features too.

There’s also a 13-litre refrigerator integrated into the centre console that can cool to -6C and heat to 50C, and a 22-speaker Voyah Sound system to give a comprehensive audio experience together with all those screens.

Material quality has also gone up in the Dreamer with new Zebra wood panels around the cabin which feature concealed lighting that permeates though the wood to give a strong premium feel.

The plug-in hybrid variant features a powertrain with a total system output of 490kW (657 hp) and 915 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 kph acceleration time of 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 203 kph.

Its key advancement is a new 62.5 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, which Voyah claims delivers a CLTC pure electric range of 350 km—the longest of any PHEV MPV globally.

The total comprehensive range for the PHEV is stated to be 1,530 km, while the BEV variant offers a CLTC range of 700 km on a single charge.

In addition to an intelligent rear-wheel steering system which has a maximum steering angle of 5-degrees and can also perform a tank-turn for enhanced manoeuvrability, the Dreamer also features intelligent magic carpet air suspension.

A major highlight is the incorporation of an 800V electrical architecture and 5C fast-charging for the PHEV model, which Voyah claims can replenish from 20% to 80% in just 12 minutes.

The 2026 Dreamer is equipped with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.0 driver assistance system, which utilises a suite of 27 sensors including a 192-line lidar unit and a 4D imaging millimetre-wave radar.

This system is designed to enable Navigate on Pilot (NOA) functionality on city streets and highways, along with automated parking, and Voyah claims the new system reduces instances of heavy braking by 30% compared to its predecessor, ADS 3.0.

The official market launch is scheduled for September, with pre-sale prices ranging from RMB 389,900 (£40,400 / $54,700) to RMB 459,000 (£47,600 / $64,400), and an all-new four-seater version will also join the standard six-seater.
