New luxury saloon will feature zero-gravity front passenger seat and 27-speaker audio system.

Buick has released details and imagery of the interior of its upcoming Electra L7, a mid-to-large electric and extended-range electric saloon targeting the Geely Galaxy E8 and BYD Seal 07 DM-i.
The model will feature a class-first 120° zero-gravity front seat for the passenger, as well as a premium audio system and a two-tone interior with silver elements.
While Buick have claimed the L7 will be an RMB 300,000-class car, we’d expect it to retail from under RMB 200,000 if it’s to have any chance of success in a cut-throat and heavily competitive segment.
The Electra L7 will be launched in the Chinese market later in 2025.

The Electra L7 is longer than German saloons like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6, with a length of 5,032mm, a width of 1,952mm, and a height of 1,500mm.
Its 3,000mm wheelbase is expected to contribute significantly to cabin space, prioritising passenger comfort, and while it will take on the role of the flagship saloon in Buick’s line-up, it’s not expected to be marketed entirely as a premium saloon judging by the sparseness of the interior.
MIIT filings have confirmed that both EV and EREV versions of the L7 will get a 252kW electric motor on the rear axle, and a 1.5-litre engine as a generator on the EREV version, giving as much as 210km of EV-only range courtesy of a 40.2kWh LFP battery.
Official pictures from Buick show turquoise lights lit up in the lightbar across the rear, and we can also see a lidar unit above the windscreen, suggesting it should come with a decent ADAS system.

Inside, the cabin integrates a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster alongside a 15.6-inch free-standing central control screen, while a distinctive “Starlight Gold Sand” trim element runs across the dashboard and onto the door panels.
The overall interior design is simple and elegant with a two-tone cream and blue colour scheme, silver trim elements, and wood elements in the doors and across the dashboard.
All seats are clad in Nappa leather for a premium feel, and the second-row “cloud-feel” seats utilise ultra-soft, mother-and-baby grade pearl cotton and Surflex™ slow-rebound triple comfort cotton in their construction.
The primary highlight is the class-first 120° zero-gravity seat for the front passenger which includes a 4-way electric leg rest that extends by 103mm, enabling the occupant to achieve a reclined posture, a mode that can be activated through voice commands, the central screen, or dedicated physical buttons for convenience.

The Electra L7 will debut the Buick Sound digital audio system, a 27-speaker sound system with a peak power output of 2000W.
The setup includes four sky speakers and two hat-rack subwoofers, plus a further 21 speakers throughout the cabin, including in the headrests, to form an immersive 360-degree horizontal sound field.
The headrest audio system offers several playback modes, including a “private mode” that directs all audio through the headrest speakers, and a driver-only function for navigation and call audio that prevents interruption of the cabin entertainment.
