Lynk & Co 10 EM-P Pre-sales Begin In China

Plug-in hybrid version of the Z10 saloon offers longer range at a lower price, taking almost 13,000 orders in 24 hours.

Lynk & Co has launched the 10 EM-P in China, a plug-in hybrid version of the Z10 saloon, securing 12,886 pre-orders within the first 24 hours of sales beginning.

Starting at RMB 192,000 (£19,700 / $26,750), the 10 EM-P comes with four-wheel drive and lidar as standard on all versions, offering particularly affordable competition to models like the Audi A7.

It boasts Geely’s G-Pilot H7 ADAS system, supported by an NVIDIA Thor-U chip with 700 TOPS of processing power, for highway and urban autonomous driving.

Lynk & Co will be hoping the market receives the 10 EM-P better than its electric alternative, the Z10, which has sold barely 3,100 units across the first seven months of the year.

The production embodiment of Lynk & Co’s The Next Day concept, the 10 EM-P is almost identical in appearance to the Z10 but sits on the CMA Evo platform rather than the SEA platform of the Z10.

It comes equipped with a 1.5-litre engine producing 120kW of power, paired with electric motors on each axle, a 180kW motor on the front and a 90kW motor on the rear, for 390kW (523hp) of total output and 640Nm of torque. It’ll hit 100kph from a standstill in 5.1 seconds.

Batteries come in two variants, an 18.4kWh battery from CATL offering as much as 120km of electric-only range on the CLTC cycle, and a 30-80% charge time of 15 minutes, and a 38.2kWh Golden Brick Shendun battery from Geely, doubling electric-only range to 240km and offering a 10-60% charge time of 13 minutes.

Total range is around 1,400km, with the 10 getting a 60-litre fuel tank, though fuel efficiency isn’t confirmed.

Alloys come in either 19- or 21-inch variants, with the 21-inch wheels part of the flagship Sport package that also boasts sporty aero elements such as a gloss black front splitter, gloss black side skirts, and a gloss black spoiler lip on top of the built-in active spoiler.

The 10 packs aluminium double-wishbone front suspension, five-link rear suspension, and variable dampers.

Inside, the 10 EM-P gets a premium interior with sport seats, lashings of Nappa and synthetic leather, suede, and fabric elements, and 256-colour ambient lighting.

A 12.66-inch driver information display built into the dash is joined by a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display, and a 15.4-inch central screen operating the FlyMe Auto operating system and packing a Snapdragon 8295 processor.

Entertainment comes courtesy of a 23-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system producing 1600W of output, with a lifting dash top speaker that also serves as a ventilation outlet, two speakers in the driver’s headrest, and an additional speaker outside of the car.

The 10 also benefits from a 5.7-litre cooling and heating storage area in the centre console capable of cooling to between -6- and 10-degrees, and heating to 35- to 50-degrees.

All four outer seats benefit from heating, ventilation, and massage functions, with the front seats getting 16-way adjustability, and rear seats getting electronic backrest adjustment from 117 to 124-degrees.

The back of the front passenger seat gets a fold-down tray table, capable of supporting up to 15kg, while there’s also a large panoramic roof.

The 10 EM-P comes in three variants, the 120 4WD Ultra, which starts at RMB 192,000 (£19,700 / $26,750), the 240 4WD Ultra, which starts at RMB 208,000 (£21,350 / $29,000), and the flagship 240 4WD Ultra Sport Edition, which starts at RMB 222,000 (£22,800 / $30,900).

Customers who order during the pre-sales period get the 23-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system as standard, and can opt for the Sport package for an RMB 8,000 (£821 / $1,100) upgrade instead of the RMB 16,000 (£1,650 / $2,225) after the pre-sales period.

The 10 will be officially launched on September 8th in Ningbo.
