Exeed E05 Interior Revealed Ahead of Munich Motor Show Debut

Highlights include a triple-screen set-up, premium sound system, and real wood trim.

Chery’s premium brand, Exeed, has released official interior images for the forthcoming E05 SUV ahead of its global debut at the Munich Motor Show in September.

The cabin appears to boast an expansive triple-screen dashboard display, a high-end sound system, and extensive use of soft-touch and premium materials throughout.

Exterior dimensions, revealed in July MIIT filings, confirm a mid-sized SUV profile that measures 4,780mm long, 1,890mm wide, and 1,725mm tall, with a 2,800mm wheelbase, pitching the E05 against rivals such as the Zeekr 7X and BYD Sealion 7.

The model will feature an extended-range hybrid powertrain, pairing a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor.

The E05’s interior is dominated by a triple-screen setup spanning the width of the dashboard, with both the driver and passenger getting a roughly 12.3-inch screen ahead of them, either side of what’s likely to be a 15.6-inch central screen.

This looks to be backed up by a high-end sound system with at least 16 speakers visible around the cabin in the images provided, including two in each of the doors, four in the ceiling, two at the base of the A-pillars, one atop the dashboard, and curiously, another down by the driver’s footwell, all featuring metal speaker covers for a premium feel.

That feel is boosted further by elements of what looks to be real wood in the doors and on the centre console and lashings of soft-touch materials across most of the rest of the cabin, including possibly microfibres on the ceiling and suede behind the 50W vented wireless charger.

There’s also extensive ambient lighting, including in the door pockets, the footwells, and around the wood elements in the doors.

The steering wheel, which appears to be a navy blue colour in contrast to the predominantly cream interior shown here, bears the written Exeed logo, a flat bottom, and chrome elements as well as roller wheels and capacitive buttons.

We can also see here that the steering is manually adjustable for reach and rake, and that there will be physical buttons for adjusting the windows down by the driver’s knee, while in the previous photo we can see some physical switches on the centre console by the cupholders.

This image appears to confirm that the E05 will not be offered with a head-up display as none of the angles shown, including one from the MIIT filing, feature a space for such a display.

The E05 will also get an electronic sunblind for the panoramic window, as well as possibly an opening sunroof though the icon is too blurry to confirm, and it will also get a split-lid centre console storage space and a fragrance pack.

In the back seats, a fixed rear bench provides space for three with both heating and ventilation functions looking likely for the two outer seats.

There’s also an armrest in the centre and rear ventilation direction controls. As the doors bear no climate control switches for the seat functions, we’d have to suspect these might be somewhere beneath the vents or down the side of the seats themselves.

The E05, which will be sold under the Exlantic brand in Europe, gets a new design language for the brand with styling that is simultaneously both svelte and muscular with exaggerated arches and a long bonnet.

At the rear, it gets a rounded look with a full-width light bar, and a large spoiler, while 18-, 19-, and 20-inch wheels will be offered.

A lidar unit above the windscreen is part of a comprehensive ADAS system that will offer urban autonomous assistance powered by Horizon Robotics’ Journey 6P chip.

MIIT documents confirm it will get a 32.659kWh LFP battery, good for 165km of electric range on the WLTC cycle, with fuel consumption of 5.8-litres per 100km.
