Qiyuan A06 Interior Revealed Ahead In New Images

Images, revealed on Chinese social media, are in line with a teaser video from Changan Chief Designer Klaus Zycoria.

Interior images of the Qiyuan A06 have surfaced on Chinese social media ahead of an official unveil, revealing a stylish two-tone look reminiscent of the AVATR 06.

The exterior of the A06, a new mid-size fastback from Changan brand Qiyuan, has already been revealed but the interior had until now been a secret aside from a short teaser video from chief designer Klaus Zycoria.

It’ll sit below the A07 in the Qiyuan range and come with both EREV and fully electric drivetrains, reportedly all single-motor rear-wheel drive variants, and an 800-volt variant for faster charging.

The launch is expected to take place at the upcoming Chengdu Auto Show at the end of August.

The interior images detail a modern-looking design, decked out with soft-touch materials throughout, a connected centre console, and extensive ambient lighting across the dash and curved around the doors.

A slim driver’s information display behind the steering wheel is joined by a head-up display and a large centre screen with physical switches and a dial just below, similar to the plug-in unit on Xiaomi models, suggesting a possible similar set-up here.

A pair of wireless chargers sit atop the centre console, along with twin cupholders, and a pebble-shaped touchpad bearing the Qiyuan logo that lights up.

The front seats also get airline-style headrests, chunky side bolsters, and likely get heating, ventilation, and massage functions to boot.

The forward-facing view shows a plethora of speakers in the doors and A-pillars, suggesting a fairly comprehensive sound system will be available, while the glovebox lacks a physical button suggesting it’ll be opened via the screen.

Here we can also glimpse some controls on the back of the centre console for ventilation, as well as USB-C and USB-A sockets, and a pair of adjustable vents.

In addition to the purple and white colour scheme, there’s also a brown and white variant, this one featuring all-white seats as opposed to the purple and white variant that combines the two colours

The steering wheel is a three-spoke, D-shaped wheel with a flat bottom and roller balls within four-way button pads, again similar to those you’ll find on other Changan family products.

The final image shows the rear seats in the brown and white trim, showcasing steeply raked seat backs that are electrically operated via a switch by the window switch.

Metal grates on speakers on the door and B-pillar give a premium feel, while there’s also a large armrest with space for two drinks and a slot for mobile phones to stand in.

Pricked leather upholstery suggests heating and ventilation on the outer seats, and it appears there’s also a fold-down tray table on the back of the front passenger seat, but no seat back pockets.

ISOFIX mountings are concealed under a flap, again like you’ll find on an AVATR, while there’s a full length panoramic window above the cabin apparently without a built-in sunblind.

Outside, the A06 is a sleek looking machine with a streamlined front end, full-width lightbar across the front, and heavy bonnet sculpting, as well as a lidar unit for the ADAS system.

The side profile is of the modern EV saloon type, with a fastback rear and a hatchback-style boot, similar to that on the XPeng P7+ and XPeng MONA M03, a body type hasn’t traditionally been a big seller in China but seems to be making a breakthrough.

At the rear, the styling is reminiscent of the Yipai 007, with a full-width light bar and wraparound graphics within a contrasting black panel, aero sculpting on either side of the bumper, and a semi-diffuser.

Prices could come in as little as RMB110,000 (£11,500 / $15,250), with the larger A07 starting at RMB119,900, which would make the A06 a serious competitor for the Leapmotor B01.
