AVATR 06 Previewed In New Images Ahead of 2025 Launch

Latest model will be a mid-size saloon and makes do without a rear window like on the Polestar 4.

AVATR has revealed official images of its upcoming 06 saloon which reveal a slightly updated design language as well as a windowless rear.

The new model, which is expected to make its full debut in early 2025, looks set to take on the Zeekr 007, Tesla Model 3, and Jiyue 07, and should offer both full electric and extended range electric drivetrains.

As such, we can expect similar specs to the recently launched 07 SUV, which in battery electric form includes a single motor rear-drive variant boasting 252kW, and a dual-motor AWD version with a total of 440kW of power. It will likely use the same 82kWh LFP battery for a range of around 600 to 700km.

The EREV variant mates a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, acting as a generator, with a 39kWh CATL Freevoy LFP battery for up to 230km of EV-only range and a total range of 1,100km. It is also available in single motor RWD form with 231kW, and dual motor AWD with 362kW in total.

AVATR hasn’t revealed any official statistics about the car but some sources have reported dimensions of 4855mm in length, 1960mm in width, 1450mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2940mm.

We can also see in the official photos the inclusion of a single lidar unit atop the windscreen, likely the 192-line Hesai unit from the 07, which will support the Huawei Qiankun ADAS system which we reviewed on the AVATR 12 here.

With no rear window, like on the AVATR 12 that we reviewed here, we can expect a digital rear view mirror to feature inside, and we’d also expect to see the same letterbox screen across the back of the dashboard from the 12 and 07 models, running the Harmony operating system.

Externally, the car features the same dual-layer daytime running lights as other AVATRs but without the bottom curl, and here we can see a two-tone body featuring a bold orange as the primary colour and a black roof, as well as pop-out door handles, a slightly stepped rear, and familiar tail lights, as well as digital cameras in the place of mirrors.

One thing we would note is how well the 06 might lend itself to a cabriolet conversion and AVATR has some form here, having teased fans with a convertible 12 in a digital rendering video earlier this year, but as of yet there are no confirmed plans for such a model, though we’d love if there was.
